II7AQP Centenario Acquedotto Pugliese

La Puglia ha sofferto per secoli una cronica penuria d’acqua dovuta alla particolare morfologia del suolo di natura calcarea e porosa che disperde l’acqua a grandi profondità.
Vi si poteva far fronte soltanto mediante la costruzione di pozzi e con la raccolta delle acque piovane.

Agli inizi del secolo scorso, dopo l’ennesima epidemia che aveva causato migliaia di morti, fu avviata la costruzione dell’acquedotto pugliese da parte del governo Giolitti.
L’impresa fu terminata con rapidità ed eccezionale cura, se si considera che all’epoca non si disponeva delle macchine di oggi, e il 24 Aprile del 1915 l’acqua arrivò a Bari in una tiepida giornata di primavera scaldata dal giubilo dei cittadini baresi accorsi in festa presso la monumentale fontana di Piazza Umberto I.

A distanza di cento anni dal primo colpo di piccone, per estensione e capacità l’Acquedotto Pugliese è ancora oggi fra le più imponenti ed esemplari opere di ingegneria idraulica realizzate al mondo. Un sistema di acquedotti interconnessi che si estendono per oltre 21 mila chilometri, convogliando ottima acqua da bere nelle case di 4 milioni di persone, secondo necessità, anche grazie ad un innovativo sistema di telecontrollo e nel pieno rispetto del vasto territorio che attraversa.

A ricordo di tale evento viene indetto il Diploma commemorativo del “Centenario Acquedotto Pugliese” che verrà rilasciato alle stazioni radio che otterranno il punteggio per il suo conseguimento e che ne faranno richiesta.

Collegamenti:

Rapporti: Ogni stazione portatile valida per il diploma passerà RS(T) seguito dalla referenza AQP corrispondente. Non è necessario lo Stop Orario.

La stazione speciale II7AQP passerà solo il rapporto RS(T).

Rules:

  • Partecipation: Om and SWL from Italy and outside Italy.
  • Period: Starts from 00:00 UTC  on April 24th and ends at 24:00 UTC on April 26th.
  • Bands: 20 and 40 meter.
  • Modes: SSB, CW, RTTY/PSK.
  • Note: Will be active, only on Sunday April 26th, 5 portable stations from important locations of the AQP (Apulian Water Service).

QSO mode:

1) Italian Stations: Italian stations must work special station II7AQP that will be active from April 24th to April 26th and at least 4 over 5 portable stations that will be active on Sunday April 26th.

2)Foreign stations: Foreign stations must work the special station II7AQP that will be active from April 24th to April 26th and at least 3 over 5 portable stations that will be active on Sunday April 26th.

Exchanges: Ever portable station valid for the award will exchange RS(T) plus the AQP reference of that station. QSO-time reference is not necessary.  The special station II7AQP will only exchange RS(T).

How to require the award: The award “Centenario dell'Acquedotto Pugliese” will be sent as PDF file to all those who require it by the following modalities. There will be not paper printed award sent by postal service.  To require the Award it will be necessary to apply on the specific module on the Sezione ARI di Bari web page (URL http://www.ari-bari.it/diplomaAQP/ ).

All the requests will be menaged by our QSL Manager in a few days time and the award will be sent by e-mail. In the application module it will be possible to require the paper QSL via the Bureau of all the single special stations worked. All those who would like to receive the paper QSL(s) (even if they haven't reached the number of worked stations for the award) can apply at http://www.aribari.it/qsl/AQP/ .
