Radio Diploma XX Mediterranean Games 2026 - Puglia On The Air

On the occasion of the XX Edition of the Mediterranean Games 2026, under the patronage of National A.R.I., the patronage of the A.R.I. Regional Puglia Committee and the Patronage of the New Organizing Committee for the 20th Edition of the Taranto 2026 Mediterranean Games, the Section A.R.I. TARANTO “ANTONIO QUARANTA” - IQ7TA, announces the Radio Diploma “XX Mediterranean Games 2026 – Puglia On The Air”,with the aim of promoting amateur radio activity and enhancing the cities of the Puglia Region, host of the sporting competitions of the 2026 Mediterranean Games.
Among the activators, the members of the A.R.I. Sections of Puglia will be involved, distributed in provincial teams, with special callsigns which will be used for the occasion by the Sections that have given their consent to participate..
The award is open to all radio amateurs and SWLs in the world.
Purpose of the diploma
Connect the Special Stations listed below, in order to achieve the various scores to obtain the different levels of the Diploma (Basic, Bronze, Silver, Gold).
Validity period
From 0:00 (Italian time) on August 21, 2026 (22:00 UTC on 08/20/2026) at 11.59pm (Italian time) on September 3, 2026 (i.e., 21:59 UTC on 03/09/2026)
Allowed Bands and Modes
- Connections made on the following will be valid band:
- HF (80m, *60m, 40m, 30m, 20m, 17m, 15m, 12m, 10m)
- QO-100
- in compliance with the current National Frequency Distribution Plan and power limitations, particularly in the 60m, where max 15 W EIRP is permitted.
- Modes allowed:
- CW
- SSB
- Digital Modes: FT8, MFSK submode FT4 (hereinafter called FT4), RTTY (baudot 45), PSK (all submodes are equivalent)
- Reports:
- RS(T) ratio only.

Since some A.R.I. Sections may share the same province, in alternative to the nominative II7MGyy, the Committee may assign the name with variations in the prefix(for example, AND7MGyy) or other variants in the suffix yy.
Each provincial section will have to identify aTeam Leader that takes charge of asking the M.I.M.I.T., through the portal https://appradioamatori.invitalia.it/, the assignment of the special call sign, for radio events, for the period of the diploma, also communicating the list of operators authorised to use it (within a maximum limit of 15 operators),not before but having received confirmation of the name assigned by the Organizing Committee of this Diploma,It being understood that the final decision as to whether or not to assign the name to the requesting Team Leader always rests with the MIMIT.
For organizational reasons, the participation of provincial activators must be sent to the ARI Taranto Section (HQ) no later than 31/03/2026 through specific membership form, whose link will be communicated via email to all the A.R.I. Sections of Puglia.
Scoring system
Each completed QSO awards:
- CW → 5 points
- Fonia → 3 points
- Digitale → 1 points: FT8-FT4; 2 points: PSK-RTTY
The points of any connections made with the bonus station II7MGXX will be worth double.
Additionally, the score will be doubled (for everyone, regardless of the connected station) on the days when the Opening Ceremony (21/08/2026) and the Closing Ceremony (03/09/2026) of the 2026 Mediterranean Games.
Limitations
- Each station activating the event can be contacted by the same hunter in the same once a day for each transmission mode and for each band (therefore for a maximum total of 59 times a day, there being 10 bands and 6 permitted modes, except for voice on the 30m band).
- Any QSOs made with the same special callsign, on the same day, on the same band and with the same transmission mode will be considered “doubles” (DUPE) and no additional points or penalties will be assigned.
Validity of QSOs
- The tender will be managed through the platform HamAward.cloud.
- Hunters are not required to submit logs.
- Only the logs of the special activating stations will be valid.
- The score will be calculated automatically by the organization.

The following prizes will also be offered to the first classified hunters in the BRONZE, SILVER, GOLD categories offered by the technical sponsor TECHNOLOGYSHOP SRLS (BA) https://www.technologyshop.it/

*In case of a tie, the prize will be awarded to the hunter with QRB more distant from locator JN80PK28 (locator of the Erasmo Jacovone Stadium, venue of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Games).
Hunters who will obtain the Diploma (Base, Bronze, Silver, Gold) will be able to download it for free, fromHamAward.cloud, at the end of the event and possibly request the diploma in format paper, upon payment of a contribution of €10 to the ARI Taranto Section, as a mere reimbursement for printing and shipping costs.
General Rules
- Only QSOs made in compliance with current regulations are valid;
- In case of discrepancies, the organization's official log will prevail;
- Any complaints must be submitted to the organizing committee within 7 days of the publication of the final results;
- In the event of a dispute, the decision of the Organizing Committee is final and unquestionable.
- As regards digital modes, activators will have to comply with fair play rules, avoiding operating the stations in an automatic and/or unmanned mode (so-called robots) and always respecting the power limits and the current band plan;
- For activating stations, the use of MSHV with Special Message is permitted, only on standard frequencies and with a maximum of 1 slot;
- Participation implies full acceptance of these regulations. and consent to the publication of one's name and callsign in amateur radio news media.
QSL
- Electronic QSL on-demand:
- During and after the event it will be possible to download, right away, the graphic eQSLs of each single QSO made, through the platform hamaward.cloud.
- QSL via LOTW for all hunters, within one month of the end of the diploma.
